Gentle Readers, during today’s research I came upon an item in the Squatter Sovereign for January 1, 1856 that I can’t resist sharing. I think it speaks for itself:
The Junior of the Squatter Sovereign while in “the wars” was shot at by one of our own guard, and peace being declared without giving him an opportunity to shoot at any one, he has been in a bad humor ever since, hence the tone of some of our articles in this No. of our paper.
